ndia's domestic passenger car sales rose at the slowest pace in nearly two years in April, as a series of interest rate increases, rising fuel prices and higher prices of the vehicles kept potential buyers at bay at the start of the financial year.


Car makers in India sold 162,825 vehicles in the local market in April, compared with 143,862 units sold in the same period a year earlier, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
